User permissions
With flexible permissions, you can customize the apps, campaigns, trackers, and keywords your users can see, and decide which features in your Adjust dashboard they can use.

Here, you'll learn how to add and remove new users, and determine their permissions across the dashboard.

Before you begin

Here’s what you need to know before getting started:

Availability
  • Admins
  • Basic (or higher) pricing plan
Helpful Information
  • There are four levels of user permissions: admins, editors, readers, and custom users
  • You can customize editor or reader permissions at the app level
  • You can customize reader permissions down to the tracker and keyword level

Add users to your dashboard

Remove users from your dashboard

Admins can remove users from an Adjust account.

To remove users, follow these steps.
  1. Select MENU to open the main navbar (on the left-hand side) > My Account
  2. Select the Users tab
  3. Navigate to the necessary user email address, select the grey carat, then User details
  4. Select DELETE USER and confirm your decision
Note: Adjust does not store historical user data. Once a user is deleted, we cannot restore their previous access settings.

Dashboard permission levels

Admin
Admin users have access to all dashboard tools and account settings. Admins are the only users that can add or delete other users from an Adjust dashboard account.

Editor
Editor users have access to all app settings. Like Admin users, Editors can add, edit, or delete any Adjust tracker URLs and in-app events. Unlike Admins, Editors cannot create new apps in the dashboard, add new users to an Adjust dashboard account, or remove users. For accounts at the Business Pro package level and above, Editors may also modify attribution window settings.

Reader
Reader users have read-only access to the Statistics tab in your dashboard. Readers can view app data, but they cannot change the account in any way.

Custom
Admins can create custom users with limited dashboard access (e.g., an editor for one app but a reader for another). You can create Custom Editors at the app level. You can create Custom Readers at the following sublevels:

Limited (tracker level)
These users have limited dashboard access at the tracker level. They can only access specific Adjust tracker URLs. Admins can only limit trackers for users with custom permissions.

Limited (campaign level)
These users have limited dashboard access at the campaign level. They can only access specific Adjust-tracked campaigns containing designated keywords. Admins can only limit campaigns for users with custom permissions.

Limited (feature level)
These users have limited dashboard access at the feature level. They can only access the specific data sets for the app titles defined by the Admin. Admins can limit features for editor, reader, and custom permission-level users.

Dashboard permissions by feature

Adding new apps: Only Admin users can add new apps. Editors cannot add a new app or select a package level if one has not been chosen.

Ad revenue: If you've purchased the Ad Revenue package, only Admin users can turn on access to ad revenue data for Editors, Readers, and Custom users.

Ad spend: If your package includes ad spend data, Admins will be able to see it for all apps and can determine access to cost data and revenue data for Editors, Readers, and Custom users.

App secrets: Only Admin users can create and manage app secrets.

Audience Builder: If you've purchased the Audience Builder package, both Admins and Editors are able to use all Audience Builder features. This includes creating and editing new audiences, and linking them to third parties (for example, Facebook). Users with custom permissions do not have access to Audience Builder and will not see it in their dashboard.

Historical data: Admin and Editor users can see all the available historical data. If a user with custom permissions has permission to view a specific tracker, they can see the historical data available for it as well.

KPI Service: If your package includes KPI Service, all users will be able to access it. If you have users with custom permission levels, they will only see the data associated with the permissions you have granted them. For example, if your custom permissions allow you to view the data for one network, then your KPI Service URL would only give you data for that network.

Partner Ad Accounts: Within Partner Ad Accounts, Admin and Editor users can both add and manage Snapchat and Apple Search Ads accounts. Only Admin users can add Facebook, Google, ironSource, and Twitter accounts.

Testing Console: Admins and Editors can use the Testing Console. A user with Custom Editor permissions for a specific app does not have access to the Testing Console.
