Adjust Automate

With Adjust Automate you can generate cross-app, cross-partner, and cross-network reports. This provides actionable analytics that let you optimize your campaigns from within the Adjust dashboard. Stop spending time on repetitive tasks, and instead focus on strategic campaign management.

Before you begin

Here’s what you need to know before getting started. 

Requirements

  • Business Pro pricing plan 

  • At least 1 linked Self-Attributing Network in Partner Ad Accounts 

  • Access requirements granted for each partner account

Availability

  • Admins; non-admins must be whitelisted

Helpful information

  • Adjust Automate’s Control Center works with the following SANs: Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Apple Search Ads

  • Apple Search keyword-level bids are available

Overview

Adjust Automate reduces work for marketers by automating day-to-day tasks and centralizing all of your data from different ad campaigns, countries, and networks into one dashboard. From here, you can analyze the KPIs you care about quickly and easily.

With powerful SAN reporting functionality, you can view and optimize attributes from Facebook, Google Ads (UAC), Snapchat, Twitter and Apple Search Ads. This lets you monitor campaign performance in an entirely customizable way. On top of this, you can also access advanced reporting for all of your Adjust-tracked partners. 

To access Automate, use the link in the Adjust dashboard menu.

Report automation

Automate shows aggregate data from all of your Adjust-tracked apps’ Statistics data (Deliverables and Cohorts) and from your Networks. With our Report Automation solution, you can set conditions and filters to a highly granular level to quickly cut through all of that data to just see what matters. Then, save the view to easily reuse for other campaigns with a single click.   

Default report settings have 3 parameter groups: Dimensions, Attributes, and Metrics (including KPIs). The timezone for all reports is UTC by default. 

Dimensions

Dimensions define your campaign structure, and the scope of your report. Choose from all Adjust campaign levels: Network / Campaign / AdGroups / Creative

Attributes

Your Attributes are your Bid and Daily Budget values. This is historical information from networks.

Metrics

Choose the most relevant metrics for your analysis. All Deliverables, all in-app events, and Adjust’s most popular Cohort metrics can be selected, as well as Automate’s own custom KPIs.
Note: Currently, all metrics only handle click-based attribution.

Customize your report

There are 4 ways you can customize a report to your needs. 

Report builder

The report builder offers the most comprehensive overview of all available customizations and levels of granularity. To use the report builder, follow these steps. 

  1. Select Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner
  2. Choose the options you require 
  3. Select Apply

Filter

Filtering lets you quickly narrow the scope of your report without changing screen. Access the data you need quickly and simply.  

Quick filters 

Select Filter (funnel icon) in the top right corner.

In-column value filters

Manually add filter conditions to each column header.

For Dimension filters, the supported syntax is: 

  • abc: shows rows that contain ‘abc’

  • ="abc": shows rows that have exact match

  • -"abc": shows rows that exclude match

For Metric filters, the supported syntax is:

  • 10 or >=10: greater or equal than 10

  • <=10: less or equal than 10

  • <10: less than 10

  • >10: more than 10

  • =10: equals 10

  • In the percentage columns % can be used: >=10% is an equivalent to >=0.10

Drill-down navigation

To drill-down into a campaign structure-related dimension (partner or network > campaign > adgroup > creative), select the column vale. This adds the next level dimension to the report. 

Example: If you select the “Network D” value in the Network column, the data is filtered to show only what is related to “Network D”. Additionally, the column of the lower level, i.e. “Campaign” column is added to the report

Column drag & drop

Set up your report exactly how you need it by rearranging the columns. To do this, simply drag and drop the column headers.  

This action works within Dimensions OR within Attributes & KPIs. You cannot drag & drop a Dimension column to Attributes/KPIs or vice-versa.

Manage your reports

Export 

Select Download (arrow icon) in the top-right to export your report. A CSV will automatically download.
Note: Attribute values are not part of CSV exports. 

Save or Update

Reports can be stored as Saved Views. This lets you easily pick up where you left off, without having to reconfigure your reports each time.  

Important: Reports are saved at the account level, not user level. This means saved reports are visible for all users on your Adjust account. 

To save or edit a report, follow these steps. 

  1. Select Edit Report (star icon)
  2. Select to update an existing report or create a new one
  3. Enter the report name
  4. Select OK

Reports are currently limited to 500 visible rows. To see all of your data at once, export your report as a CSV. 

Set Default

If you have multiple saved views, you can set one of them as your Default Report.

To set a default, open Edit Reports and select the Star icon. This saves the report as your default view at an account level. 

Delete

To delete a report, open Edit Reports and select Delete (trash icon). 

FAQs

What data do I see with Automate?

The data displayed in Automate is drawn from your existing API integrations with SAN partners.

How can I use Automate to help with A/B testing? 

Test your creatives across different networks to find the ones that perform best. Using Automate’s powerful visualization of collated data, you can easily pinpoint the creatives with the best click-through rates, targeted at the right audience, with the cheapest bids. 

What data does Adjust query from SANs? 

In addition to bid and budget, we also query campaign metadata used by SANs. This helps us interpret attributes in a meaningful way. For example, we not only need to know the advertisers’ bid on a campaign but also the country for the bid. 

When you open a report, the Adjust backend queries the networks to ensure all campaign attributes are up-to-date. Similarly, when you change a bid or budget our backend asks the networks if the displayed information is still valid. If it’s not you are notified, and if it is then the requested change is sent to the network. 

What level of dashboard access do I need to use Automate?

Once Automate is set up for your account, Admin users have full access. To allow non-admin user access, please contact support@adjust.com

After non-admin users are whitelisted, they have the same level access within Automate as they do within the Adjust dashboard.

E.g., your access to a specific app or tracker in Adjust is mapped over to your visibility in Automate. 

Important: Once you have access to Automate, displaying and editing network attributes (bids and budgets) is not limited. This means that if you whitelist a user, they are granted full admin editing access to your connected networks in Adjust’s Partner Account Settings.
