FAQs

Why does Datascape show fewer installs than Google Marketing Platform?

Since Google Marketing Platform is a self-attributing partner, Adjust sends all recorded installs to Google Marketing Platform (through our API integration) to claim attribution. In return, Google responds to Adjust with click data with the intent of being awarded attribution. If Google has a record of a user's prior ad engagement (via timestamp), then they will report the install within the Google Marketing Platform dashboard.

However, as an agnostic third-party attribution partner, Adjust considers all sources before making attributions. Meaning, even though Google claims a user's install, Adjust will only attribute the user to Google Marketing Platform providing that it is the most recent source of ad engagement (within the applicable attribution window). Therefore, it is possible that a Google Marketing Platform-reported user may be attributed elsewhere within Adjust.

In the case of a reported install discrepancy, we always recommend that you consider the following points.
