Measurement for third-party app stores

Adjust can measure installs from third-party stores using: a default link URL set in the Adjust SDK, a predefined engagement written in the device, or using the install referrer. You can use any of these methods to show these campaigns in your Adjust reporting and automatically send callback data to any third-party store.

Here, you can find out how to pick the right method for your campaign and get set up.

Measure with APK and default link

Use this method to measure:

  • Preinstalled apps.
  • Organic installs through third party app stores.

This method requires a specific APK version that automatically assigns installs to a predefined link URL, written directly into the Adjust SDK.

Measure with predefined engagement data in the device

Use this method to measure:

  • Preinstalled apps.
  • Specific user journeys that mean networks cannot report clicks before the app install.

This solution uses encrypted predefined engagement data that’s written to the device. After app open, the Adjust SDK sends the data to our servers for attribution.

Measure with install referrer

Use this method to:

  • Measure preinstalled apps.
  • Report engagements using referrer information.

Based on the device that you are measuring, use one of the following referrers:

Measure paid installs

Unlike measuring organic installs, you do not need to use the Adjust Store and Pre-install Tool to measure paid installs generated by third-party Android app stores. Instead, you can use a standard Adjust link URL or any available integration set in place with the third-party store.
