Set up Connected TV campaigns in Xandr

With Adjust's partnership with Xandr, you can add your Adjust cross-device campaign link to the campaign creative that you upload to Xandr. This lets you measure the success of your CTV campaigns and their role in driving mobile app installs.

Contact your Adjust Account Manager if you want to run CTV campaigns with Xandr in Japan.

Before you begin

Here's what you need to know before getting started.

Requirements

  • You have appropriate permissions to add creatives and pixels in Xandr's Creative Manager.
  • Your creative follows Xandr's Creative Standards, and Guidelines and Specifications.
  • Check that your hosted banner and video creatives on Xandr do not exceed 1 GB.

Create a cross-device link in Adjust

To create an Adjust cross-device link, follow these steps.

  1. Select Campaign Lab.
  2. Select + New Partner.
  3. Select the network from the list.
  4. Choose the app you want to create the link for.
  5. Under Set your link use case, select Cross-device link.
  6. Enter a name for your link.
  7. Update the link's campaign structure parameters. The following Xandr macros are available:
    • ${CPG_ID}
    • ${DEAL_ID}
    • ${EXT_APP_ID}

Adjust recommends mapping macros to the campaign structure parameters in the following way:

  • campaign=${CPG_ID}
  • adgroup=${DEAL_ID}
  • creative=${EXT_APP_ID}
  1. Optional: Customize the attribution window for your cross-device link.
  2. Review your link settings and select Create link.

Here is an example of the cross-device link created:

  1. Now, append the following parameters to the link so that it supports probabilistic matching for impressions:

Add a creative

This is a high-level overview of the steps that you need to follow to add a creative in Xandr's Creative Manager.

To read through a detailed explanation of the different ways that you can upload creative files and the supported creative file types, see Xandr's documentation.

To add a creative, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Advertiser > Creative Manager.
  2. In Creative Manager, go to Creative > Creatives.
  3. Select an advertiser. This is who you run your campaign with.
  4. Select New.
  5. Select your creative type.
  6. To add your creative, do one of the following:
    1. Host creatives on Xandr: Browse and upload your creative file.
    2. Host creatives on your own server or on a separate server: Specify the server URL where you have hosted your creative.
  7. If necessary, enter additional basic information and choose different formatting and audit options for the creative.
  8. Preview your creative.
  9. When you are happy with how the creative looks, select Save.

Add the Adjust cross-device link to your creative

This is a high-level overview of the steps that you need to follow to add your Adjust cross-device link to your campaign creative.

Note:
In Xandr, a link is referred to as a pixel. In this step, you are adding an Adjust link as a third-party pixel to the creative. This configures measurement for your creative.

For detailed information on adding the third-party pixel to your creative and optionally choosing to serve the pixel on Google Ad Exchange (AdX), see Xandr's documentation.

To add the Adjust cross-device link as a third-party pixel, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Advertiser > Creative Manager.
  2. Find the creative you want to add the Adjust connected TV link to.
  3. For the creative, go to Advertiser Details.
  4. Select Third-party Pixels.
  5. Select New and enter a name for your pixel.
  6. Select All Advertiser Creatives to apply the pixel to all creatives at the advertiser level, or select Individual Creatives to apply the pixel to individual creatives.
  7. Select the Serve on Secure Inventory toggle if you want the pixel to be served on secure inventory.
  8. From the Type menu, select the appropriate pixel format.
  9. In the Custom Pixels field, paste the Adjust link.
  10. Select whether you want the pixel to be served on the Google Ad Exchange (AdX) inventory.
  11. Select Save.

Your pixel will be audited by the Xandr team and is generally approved within 24 hours after submission. With your pixel in active state, it begins serving any creatives that it is attached to.

Optional: Add creatives in bulk

If you have a large number of creatives to upload, use the bulk option to save time and improve efficiency. The following is a high-level overview of the steps that you need to follow to add bulk creatives in Xandr's Creative Manager.

To read through a detailed explanation on the supported creative file types, the different ways that you can upload creative files, and reviewing formatting configurations for each creative, see Xandr's documentation.

To add creatives in bulk, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Advertiser > Creative Manager.
  2. In Creative Manager, go to Creative > Creatives.
  3. Select an advertiser. This is who you run your campaign with.
  4. Select New, and select Bulk.
  5. To add your creatives in bulk, do one of the following:
    • Host creatives on Xandr: Browse and upload your creatives. You can upload files up to 8 MB.
    • Host creatives on a separate server or host native creatives on Xandr: From Creative Spreadsheet > Select File, upload assets using a spreadsheet.
  6. Verify that all your creatives have been successfully uploaded.
  7. Review additional formatting and audit options for each creative.
  8. For each creative, select its type as Audio, Video, or Banner, and select Add to Creative List to add the creative to its type tab.
  9. Add the Adjust link for each creative.
  10. Select Save.
  11. Resolve any warnings and errors, and select Save.
