Set up The Trade Desk

The Trade Desk is a network and Adjust module partner. Our integration lets The Trade Desk receive attribution and in-app event data through automated callbacks.

Use our basic setup instructions to turn on Adjust’s integration and send callbacks to The Trade Desk. Then, use our advanced setup instructions to customize what information The Trade Desk receives.

Basic setup

To turn on Adjust’s integration with The Trade Desk, follow these steps.

  1. Find your app and select your app options caret (^)
  2. Select Partner Setup > ADD PARTNERS
  3. Select the add (+) icon next to The Trade Desk
  4. Enter your ADVERTISER ID and TRACKER ID (for help finding these, contact your The Trade Desk representative)
  5. Optional: see advanced setup to customize your callbacks
  6. Select Save

Well done! Basic setup is complete. Now you can create an Adjust tracker URL and submit it to The Trade Desk to launch your campaign.

The Trade Desk will receive callbacks for these activities:

  • event

Forward in-app revenue

Forward in-app events

Event linking lets The Trade Desk receive in-app event data. You can link every in-app event in Adjust to a preset The Trade Desk name or a custom event name.

To forward in-app events to The Trade Desk, follow these steps.

  1. Find your app and select your app options caret (^)
  2. Select Partner Setup > The Trade Desk > Event Linking
  3. Find the event you want to link and update the field with a The Trade Desk event or your own custom name
  4. When you finish linking events, select OK
  5. Select Save

Now The Trade Desk will receive in-app event data for each of your linked events.

Partner specific setup instructions

Additionally to the ADVERTISER ID and the TRACKER ID you enter in the module for activation, you can pass a different value of ADVERTISER ID and TRACKER ID directly through the Adjust tracking link using the two following parameters:

  • ttd_adv_id
  • ttd_event_id

The Trade Desk will be able to correctly process the data being sent back to them for the ADVERTISER ID and the TRACKER ID you passed in those two parameters. This is best utilized in instances where you may have two separate Partner IDs and Advertiser IDs that are both accessing the same App within Adjust.

Additional Information * If those 2 parameters are not included in the tracking links of your campaigns, they will always send through callbacks the Advertiser ID and the Tracker ID values entered in the module.

  • If one of the 2 parameters is missing, we will fallback to the values entered in the module
  • If those 2 parameters are included in the tracking links of your campaigns, the data will be posted to theTradeDesk in the following manner:
    • the Advertiser ID and the Tracker ID values entered in the module if the install/in-app events are not attributed to TTD
    • the Advertiser ID and the Tracker ID values passed in the ttd_adv_id and ttd_event_id parameters if the install/in-app events are attributed to TTD
