Set up a branded domain
A branded link includes a branded domain that represents your app name, company name, or brand name. Set up a branded domain in your app for all click link URLs for your app.
Here, you can find out how to save a branded domain for your app and then access branded links for all click link URLs for your app.
Before you begin
Here's what you need to know before getting started.
- Admins can save branded domains.
Branded domain name requirements
- (Required) Use the same branded domain for every platform of your single-platform apps. This is required for deep links to work correctly across multiple platforms. For example, if you have an Android version and an iOS version of your app in Adjust, specify the same branded domain in both apps.
- You cannot use the same domain name for multiple apps on the same platform. For example, if you have two Android apps in Adjust, you cannot specify the same branded domain in both apps.
- Your domain may not begin or end with a hyphen (
-
) or a full stop (.
). - You cannot change the domain name after you save it.
Once set, the domain applies to all click link URLs for the app.
Tips for picking a branded domain name
- Your branded domain name should align with your company name. When your links include your brand name (
brandName.go.link
), it makes it easier for users to recognize them, which promotes trust and improves conversion rates. - Keep your branded domain name as short as possible. If you have different versions of your brand name, use the name that users would identify.
- Work with all your internal stakeholders—marketing, branding, and so on—to pick a branded domain name. Make sure that everyone is aligned before you reserve your branded domain and create branded links in Adjust.
Reserve a branded domain for your app in AppView
By default, Adjust uses the app.adjust.com
domain in click link URLs. Instead, you can use a branded custom domain for your click link URLs. To set up a branded domain for your app, follow these steps in AppView.
- Under AppView, select All apps.
- Select your app.
- Select the App information tab.
- Under Branded domain, select Edit.
- Enter the unique domain to be used in your custom link URLs.
- Select Save.
Example: Adjust appends .go.link
domain to your branded domain. If you set the branded domain as adjust-app
, then this is what you see in Adjust - adjust-app.go.link
.
Great job! You have set your app's branded domain.
Set up your app to support branded links
iOS
For iOS apps, an additional step is required to let universal linking work correctly with your branded links.
When you first set up support for universal links in your iOS app, you configure Associated Domains. After you have saved a branded domain for your app, you need to update this.
Ask your developer to enter the new go.link
domain into the Associated Domains section of your Xcode project. For more information, see Apple's documentation about supporting associated domains.
If you are already using xxx.adj.st
as your universal link domain, do not remove it. Keep both xxx.adj.st
and brandName.go.link
as the associated domains.
Android
For Android apps, an additional step is required to let Android App Links work correctly with your branded links.
When you configure Android App Links in the Adjust SDK, you need to configure your branded domain as the Android App Link
Access your branded links
Setting up a branded domain automatically updates all the existing links of your apps. Branded links are available for click URLs only.
Custom links
After setting up the branded domain, follow these steps to access the branded link for a custom link:
- Under Campaign Lab, select Custom links.
- Under the Channel column, select the link for the app that you've saved the branded domain.
- Your click URL is updated with the branded domain name. Copy the updated URL and share it with your team or partners to use in campaigns.
If you have campaign-level, adgroup-level, or creative-level links, you can drill down to view and copy the click URLs with the updated branded link. Learn how to drill down into the link structure of your custom link.
