Short branded links

Use Adjust’s link shortener solution to create short click URLs using your branded link domain. These short links are perfect for using in social media campaigns where text space is limited, and you want to engage new audiences while driving brand recognition.

  • Drive brand loyalty, recognition, and trust.
  • Universal support for all deep link formats, without the need for individual link configuration.

Supported environments

Adjust's system automatically handles the routing to all of the ad environments shown in the table below. So, you do not need to manually append different parameters to your links depending on where you post the link. This means you can use your link on whatever channel you're running a campaign on, such as Instagram or YouTube, and Adjust will handle any changes that are necessary for that environment.

CategoryEnvironment
Social
  • Facebook
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Instagram - if the app is installed, the link must have a path
  • Naver
  • Snapchat (for stories, see this section)
  • Twitter
  • WeChat
  • YouTube
Messenger
  • Messages
  • Telegram
  • WhatsApp
Web
  • Chrome
  • Safari

If you are currently using links that were specifically configured for a certain ad environment, and you would like to convert these to a short URL that can handle the correct routing dynamically, you can make this update easily in the dashboard. Follow the steps under Manage short links.

Tip:

If you encounter any issues while testing your short link in any of the supported environments, share a video recording with your Adjust representative for troubleshooting. Additionally, let your representative know whether you plan to use the short link in any other environments.

Use short links in Snapchat stories

You can post short links in Snapchat stories.

Requirements

  • Provide Clipboard permissions in Snapchat [iOS | Android]. This allows Snapchat to access your clipboard so you can attach links using the Paperclip tool.
  • Copy the link that you want to add to the Snapchat story.

Steps

  1. Create a Snapchat story.
  2. Tap the Paperclip icon to add a link.
  3. Select Allow Paste to let Snapchat attach the link. This option only appears if you have not given Snapchat clipboard permissions.
  4. Under My Clipboard, select the link that you had copied.
    • Do not paste the link in this field.
  5. Confirm that you want to attach the link to your story.

The final link widget on your story shows the short go.link.

Use cases

Influencer campaigns

If you're running influencer campaigns over various social platforms, it is essential to be able to use short, branded links in each post. Not only does the short link format suit the limited space available, but including your brand name helps build brand recognition and trust.

What's more, using short branded links helps you to drive cross-promotion. Send users to your app, product page, blog, or anything else that suits your marketing goals.

User referrals

If you're running user referral programs, you can use short links to help improve click through rates (CTR). Not only is the branded domain essential for establishing the legitimacy of the link, but the short URL is ideal for sending over SMS.

QR code campaigns

QR codes are a popular way of sharing content in a range of different settings. Whether you're using a QR code as part of your out-of-home advertising or to add to your social media posts, you can simply use the scannable QR code that's automatically generated with every short link.

With short links, the QR code is less dense and therefore easier to scan. This results in better traction with your users.

Note:

If you are using any links that you previously set up in Adjust, you need to edit these to ensure they are updated to use the new format. Learn more in the Manage short links section.
